Green Monday Group to offer OneDegree’s pet insurance as staff wellness benefit

OneDegree Hong Kong today announces that Green Monday Group is now offering Pawfect Care pet insurance as a staff wellness perk, making the plant-based social venture one of the first enterprises in Hong Kong to include pet welfare as part of its workplace benefit.

Over 30% of U.S. employers* and about half of Fortune 500 companies offer some sort of pet insurance benefit to their staff, reflecting the growing importance of pets to many people. In Hong Kong, pet parents also view their furry friends as integral members of their households: A recent survey^ conducted by OneDegree Hong Kong found that the overwhelming majority (87%) of respondents view their pets as part of their families. However, most Hong Kong employers do not yet have pet coverage in their benefit offerings.

Green Monday Group is making the voluntary benefit available to its over 200 employees in Hong Kong. The two companies hope the initiative will set a precedence and encourage other Hong Kong employers to follow. Benefit packages are becoming increasingly crucial when it comes to recruitment and retention, and workers are looking for more than basic healthcare when it comes to staff perks.

David Yeung, Founder and CEO of Green Monday Group, said: “I am a big believer that a loving, caring and purposeful workplace creates the best environment for performance and productivity.  That explains why we are delighted that OneDegree Hong Kong is incorporating Green Monday plant-based initiative as a company ESG and staff wellness campaign.  On our end, we are also offering their pet insurance as a special benefit to Green Monday staff members.”

Alvin Kwock, Co-Founder of OneDegree, said: “In today’s dynamic job market, it takes a lot more to keep and retain talents. Staff want to feel supported and cared for, and one way to show that is through thoughtful staff benefits. We are happy to partner with Green Monday Group to bring about this pioneering initiative and we are excited to explore future collaborations with David and his team.”

OneDegree Hong Kong is pleased to join the long list of companies working with Green Monday Group to introduce sustainable living to their offices. The company will be setting up a snack corner in its Hong Kong office stocked with plant-based treats from Green Common, the retail and dining arm of Green Monday Group. For a limited time, OneDegree Hong Kong is also offering an additional 10% discount on Pawfect Care, and 10% cash rebate on fire insurance for members of Green Common.
